Paris. 08 October 2024.  The new A321neo aircraft featuring the commemorative symbol of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam–France diplomatic relations was celebrated by Airbus and Vietjet at Orly Airport (Paris), with the attendance and congratulations of Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam, along with senior leaders from both Vietnam and France.

Vietjet Chairwoman, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, said:“Vietjet aircraft showcasing the symbol of 50 years of Vietnam–France diplomatic relations marks a milestone in the development of economic, cultural, and trade cooperation between the two nations, spreading the shared values between their people and international friends. We are pleased that the cooperation between Vietjet and French partners has yielded positive results, forming a solid foundation for the Vietnam–France strategic partnership. Today’s event is especially meaningful as it celebrates the success of the 19th Francophonie Summit, with the participation of leaders from nearly 100 member countries.”

In 2018, Vietjet received an A321 aircraft featuring the symbol of the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations, witnessed by the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during his official visit to France.

The newly delivered A321neo aircraft today is the 80th aircraft in Vietjet’s order of more than 206 aircraft with the world’s leading manufacturer Airbus. The new, modern Airbus aircraft have created more jobs for France, together with Vietjet offering flying opportunities to hundreds of millions of people and tourists, promoting aviation development, trade and cultural exchange in the region as well as the world. During the time of the pandemic, Vietjet’s fleet has transported millions of medical masks to the people of France, Germany, the UK, etc., transporting medical equipment, goods and food to contribute to quickly controlling the pandemic.

Vietjet’s cooperation with French partners and Airbus has continuously contributed to the dynamic trade between Vietnam and France in particular and the European Union in general. More specifically, Vietjet’s projects in cooperation with Airbus have contributed to the formation of a training center and aviation technical services in Vietnam, providing large-scale aircraft technical services, ready for the production of aviation components and supporting technology in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President Sales for Commercial Aircraft business, said: “Today’s event marks another milestone in Airbus’ long-standing partnership with Vietjet and Vietnam industry aviation. The delivery of another A321neo is a key step in Vietjet’s ambitious fleet expansion, alongside its recent firm order for 20 A330neo at the Farnborough Airshow. We are proud and look forward to continued collaboration and success with Vietjet in many years to come.”

Vietjet’s A321neo aircraft has a modern, airy design, soft leather seats, high-quality carpet and the latest generation of engines, brings a 50% noise reduction and more than 20% fuel savings and CO₂ reduction compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. It will join Vietjet’s fleet of over 100 modern aircraft, serving routes across Vietnam and international destinations including India, China, Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, meeting the travel needs of passengers and tourists.

Following the delivery of the new aircraft, Airbus will continue to deliver more new aircraft from now until the end of 2024 to Vietjet, which demonstrating the airline’s commitment to meeting all passenger demands, expanding the flight network, developing sustainably, and promoting cultural, economic, and tourism exchanges between countries and peoples around the world.
