- U.S. Military Highlights Unity and Innovation at Farnborough International Airshow
Farnborough, UK. 26 July 2024. From July 22-26, 2024, Airmen and aircraft from U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) attended the Farnborough International Airshow in England, showcasing the dynamic capabilities of U.S. military aircraft and reinforcing the United States’ commitment to its NATO Allies and global partners. The biennial event, held at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, provided a platform for the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries to exhibit cutting-edge technologies and foster international cooperation.
FIA, which takes place every two years at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, provides a global forum for the aerospace, aviation, and defence industries to come together. The U.S. military emphasises the importance of its force capabilities, innovation, presence in Europe, and dedication to partners and allies while at FIA.
According to U.S. Air Force Gen. James B. Hecker, commander of USAFE-AFAFRICA, Farnborough International Airshow is yet another opportunity for the U.S. military to come together with our U.K. and NATO Allies and partners to display the dynamic capabilities of our various aircraft and highlight our collective readiness. We have such good relationships with our Allies and partners because of our presence in Europe and participation in events like the Farnborough International Airshow. USAFE-AFAFRICA’s presence at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024 emphasized the value of U.S. military capabilities and highlighted the strong relationships with NATO Allies and partners. The event featured flyovers by an F-15E Strike Eagle and F-35 Lightning II, and static displays of an F-35 and an F-16 Fighting Falcon. Gen. James B. Hecker, commander of USAFE-AFAFRICA, underscored the importance of unity and collective readiness among Allies. The airshow facilitated bilateral engagements focused on interoperability and security, showcasing new technologies and fostering solidarity. The U.S. military’s participation reinforced the collaborative efforts to enhance mutual trust and operational synergy among Allied force.
