- The USA Partnership Pavilion – consisting of 23 exhibitors across 480 sqm – will have its greatest footprint yet, as the second largest national presence at Defense & Security 2022
Bangkok, Thailand and Waldwick, N.J. 28 August 2o22. U.S. companies competing for air, land, and sea contracts with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries look to strengthen trade, innovation, and workforce partnerships with buyers and influencers at Defense & Security 2022 from 29 August to 1 September, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The biennial business event is the most comprehensive in its region with 550 global leading companies from 50 countries, including 30 international group pavilions. The show is expected to attract over 21,000 trade professionals from 60 countries, including 400 official delegations and key decision makers from all over Asia, led by Ministers of Defense and Chiefs of Armed Forces for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and Security Agencies. High-ranking government officials and professionals related to the armed forces and internal security will also be present.
This edition, presented under the banner of ‘The Power of Partnership’ welcomes the strongest presence yet from the U.S. companies housed in the USA Partnership Pavilion, organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., in coordination with numerous government agencies, including the Departments of Commerce, Defense, and State. Collectively, the group will be presenting a broad range of innovative technologies, equipment, and services from 16 different U.S. states. The cross-section of leading U.S. manufacturers and suppliers includes Blackhawk Aerospace Solutions (#J18), General Dynamics Land Systems (#J17), Lockheed Martin (#F17), and REDCOM (#J26).
The United States may be the world’s largest defense and security industry supplier, but recognizes that now, more than ever, success in international trade depends on partnership and teamwork. The defense spending of Thai military and law enforcement agencies primarily focuses on maintaining defense expenditure to safeguard the nation and strengthen its armed forces. As a result, purchasing for military equipment to modernize and upgrade military capability is essential, resulting in an increase in demand for equipment from allied countries.
In 2020, Thailand spent USD 7.6 billion on military technology in line with the major military reform and restructuring plan introduced by the Thai Ministry of Defense in 2017, cumulating in 2026. According to the International Trade Administration (ITA), this plan “emphasizes research and development along with a focus on purchases of munitions, weapons, military vehicles, armed training aircraft, electronic warfare, and communication devices. To upgrade military capabilities, the Thai military will invest in additional purchases of helicopters, fighter jets, frigates, armored vehicles, utility vehicles, and internal security equipment.”
For over thirty years, Kallman Worldwide has been helping U.S. exhibitors at trade events in the Asia-Pacific region. The company has been organizing the U.S. Pavilion presence at Defense & Security since 2013, with the aim of helping advance America’s national interests and security by building stronger relationships with international customers. Many of the U.S. exhibitors — from publicly traded stalwarts to small-and medium-sized enterprises [SMEs] with fewer than 500 employees — already have significant business partnerships and operations in the region and are hoping to strengthen these ongoing relationships and forge new ones. The U.S. group is anticipating a show that will offer unique opportunities to do business in the region and the optimum platform from which to promote their products and technology to ASEAN and Thai decision makers.
In addition to a physical presence at the four-day event, USA Partnership Pavilion exhibitors are featured at Sourcehere.com – the digital home of the USA Partnership Pavilion Exhibitor Directory. The digital directory features a searchable Pavilion database with interactive tools to help users connect with exhibitors before, during, and after the exhibition.
