Union Home Secretary Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Secretary DDR&D & Chairman DRDO Dr Samir V Kamat, today jointly reviewed the ongoing collaboration between the DRDO and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) institutionalised to develop technologies and systems for Low Intensity Conflict (LIC) operations. The collaboration has helped DRDO to develop many products and systems required for the central security forces during LIC operations. The collaboration has also helped in identifying futuristic requirements for LIC operations and defining the roadmap for their development.
On this occasion, a Compendium of DRDO Developed Low Intensity Conflict Products was released jointly by the Union Home Secretary and Secretary DDR&D & Chairman DRDO. In keeping with the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” campaigns of the Government of India, the compendium which consists of more than 100 technologies, systems and products developed by DRDO for LIC operations will be a valuable repository of information for the central security forces. The compendium also provides information on industries manufacturing the products and industries that are going to manufacture products which are at the advance stage of development. Senior officers from DRDO, MHA, NSCS, CAPFs and IB were present during the function.
