13th All India Police Archery Championship 2024: Grand OpeningGreater Noida, December 10, 2024: The 13th All India Police Archery Championship-2024, organized by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), commenced today with a grand ceremonial opening at the 39th Battalion ITBP Campus in Greater Noida. The event was graced by Smt. Sivagami Sundari Nanda, Special Secretary (Internal Security), MHA, Government of India, as the Chief Guest.

Commending the ITBP for its meticulous arrangements, Smt. Sivagami Sundari Nanda stated that the All India Police Championships serve as an excellent platform to nurture and showcase the archery talents of the police forces across the nation.

Welcoming the Chief Guest and the participating teams, Sh. Nirbhai Singh, IG(Trg), Dte Gen, ITBP, highlighted the ITBP’s long-standing excellence in sports, particularly in archery. He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to promoting sports and maintaining its high standards in organizing such events.

During the vote of thanks, Sh. Anand Singh Yersong, DIG, SHQ (Delhi), ITBP expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, participants, and organizers. He noted that this is the third time ITBP is hosting the All India Police Archery Championship, following successful editions in 2014 and 2021. He acknowledged the privilege ITBP holds in organizing such prestigious events.

ITBP Greater Noida Campus

The championship sees participation from 24 teams representing Central Armed Police Forces, State Police Forces & UT Police Forces. Over 300 male and female archers are competing in various categories, including Recurve, Compound, and Indian styles, in individual, team, and mixed events. The five-day championship, scheduled from December 9 to 13, 2024, also features ranking rounds with medal events.

The All India Police Games, coordinated by the All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB), have been a prominent annual feature since 1951. Archery was included in the games in 2013. ITBP previously hosted the 2nd and 10th editions of the Archery Championship in 2014 and 2021, respectively.

The closing ceremony of the Championship will take place on December 13, 2024.
