Abu Dhabi, 18 February 2025 – As one of the largest and leading international defence industry exhibitions and forums in the world, the 10th edition Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum is thrilled to announce its participation in International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. At this moment, Indo Defence is in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence of Indonesia and 9 domestic defence companies and will be at Indonesia Pavilion. This collaboration highlights Indonesia’s growing presence in the global defence sector and its commitment to fostering international partnerships.
The participation in IDEX 2025 comes at a pivotal time as the Indonesian Ministry of Defence plans to increase its defence spending to 1-1.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Historically, Indonesia’s defence budget has hovered between 0.7% and 0.8% of GDP, significantly below the ideal benchmark of 1.5%-2% required to build a robust defence force. With a vision to modernize Indonesia’s defence capabilities, the government is actively working towards strengthening its domestic defence industry. Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum participation at IDEX 2025 underscores Indonesia’s commitment to becoming a key player in the international defence sector, while ensuring national security and economic growth through defence innovation.
Hosted by the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum is incorporated with Indo Aerospace and Indo Marine 2024 Expo & Forum. The event has evoked an enthusiastic response from companies across regions of local and international exhibitors from 35 countries, confirming their participation in the next edition. More than 1,000 local and international companies, from 60 countries including 35 country pavilions, and 40,000 visitors are expected to fill the 70,000sqm exhibition area at Indo Defence 2024 for four days.
