To commemorate the 70 th anniversary of the establishment of Headquarter Maintenance Command (HQ MC), Nagpur, the First Edition of the Phoenix Marathon is being organized at Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur on 16 Feb 25. This grand event will bring together Air Warriors, defence personnel, civilians and fitness enthusiasts from all walks of life.

The marathon will be flagged off by Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, AVSM VSM, AOC-in-C, HQ MC, setting the stage for an exhilarating test of endurance and determination displaying sportsman spirit. The event is open to IAF personnel, their families, defence civilians and participants from the civil society. The Marathon will have various categories Ultra Marathon 50 Km, Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 Km, 05 Km and 3 Km Fun Run for Children.

The Phoenix Marathon embodies the resilience, commitment, and indomitable spirit of the Indian Air Force, while also fostering a culture of fitness within the larger community. This prestigious event is expected to witness enthusiastic participation, celebrating not just athletic excellence but also the deep bond between the armed forces and civilians.
