In a spectacular display of strength, skill, and endurance, the Army’s AOC (Army Ordnance Corps) firefighters contingent dominated the 3rd All India Fire Services Sports & Fire Service Meet, leaving an indelible mark on the competition. With an exceptional medal tally of 58 including 18 Gold,16 Silver & 24 bronze, they emerged as one of the most formidable teams in the event, held from 28 February to 2 March at Thyagraj Stadium and DLF Pragati Towers, New Delhi.
This event of unmatched excellence was organized by the All India Fire Services Sports Control Board(AIFSSCB). This highly competitive meet brought together 705 elite fire fighters Athletes from 42 fire Services teams across the country. These participants showcased their mettle across 22 gruelling events, testing their agility, strength, and firefighting prowess.
With a strength of 67 fire fighters, the AOC contingent from Indian Army displayed unparalleled discipline and determination, outperforming rivals in multiple categories including Arm Wrestling , Fire Fighter Challenge, Stair Run, Muster drills & Ultimate Fire Fighter Competition. Their rigorous training and unyielding spirit were evident as they clinched top positions, setting new benchmarks in various competitions.
From high-intensity rescue drills to endurance-driven challenges, the Indian Army AOC firefighter team’s performance was a testament to their exceptional preparedness and relentless pursuit of excellence. Their ability to execute complex manoeuvres with precision highlighted their superior skills and tactical brilliance with perfect teamwork.
This triumph was not achieved overnight. The fire fighters of all the Army AOC establishments underwent a rigorous & structured training regimen, designed to test and enhance their endurance, agility, and tactical expertise at the nodal unit for fire service games ,Central Ammunition Depot(CAD) ,Pulgaon. Their selection process was
gruelling, requiring them to master rescue techniques, high-intensity drills, and physically demanding endurance in multi-level trials held at CAD. This training at CAD and at other establishments/sports training centres of Indian Army shaped them into a highly skilled and battleready fire fighters capable of excelling under extreme pressure. Their success in this competition is a testament to their perseverance and the Indian Army’s commitment to excellence.
With a spectacular and impressive medal tally, the AOC firefighters contingent performance reinforced their reputation as leaders in resilience and teamwork. Their achievements not only brought pride to the Indian Army but also inspired and motivated the fire service professionals across the nation to encourage physical & mental endurance and enhance fire fighting capabilities specially amongst our army establishments.
