Bangkok. 13 February 2020. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand’s (CAAT) latest air transport statistics for the fourth quarter of 2020, low-cost carriers (LCCs) accounted for over 80% of the country’s domestics market share. For the first time Thai Vietjet has surpassed both NokAir and Thai Lion to move up to the second place.

Having launched schedule services since September 2016 as the last airline entered Thai market, it can be said that the carrier has been completely accepted by local and international travelers over the last four years, with the so called “Safety, Punctuality, Affordable fares and Fun”.

Among all seven carriers, the top four companies are LCCs, which obtained a total of 83.7% of Thailand’s domestic market share.
