Dublin, Ireland. 13 August 2019. Thai AirAsia X has received its first A330neo aircraft out of two. The aircraft was delivered via the international aircraft leasing company Avolon on lease. This is the very first A330neo jet to join AirAsia fleet. The AirAsia X Thailand A330neo or A330-900 has 377 seats in a two-class configuration, consisting of 12 Premium Flatbeds and 365 economy class seats.
The A330neo will be stationed at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport in Thailand, supporting the airline’s growth and network expansion plans to key markets such as Australia, Japan and South Korea.
AirAsia X, a long-haul affiliate of AirAsia, presently has 36 A330-300 aircraft and is going to purchase 66 A330neo which makes it the largest customer for A330-900 globally. The aircraft is based on A330’s wide-body and features A350 XWB technology and Equipped with the Airbus Airspace cabin and Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines.
