London. 28 March 2024. Survitec’s critical safety and survival solutions, has been awarded a significant contract to supply its Survival Technology to five Type 31 Frigates being built by Babcock for the Royal Navy.
Under the terms of the agreement, Survitec will manufacture and supply four 100-person and four 25-person liferafts to each vessel. Survitec’s liferaft solutions undergo stringent testing and validation to ensure compliance with the highest performance and safety standards. The contract also includes the supply of six scramble nets and ladders to each vessel.
The contract with Babcock is particularly noteworthy for its longevity, as the build of these five vessels extends into 2028. The Type-31 Frigates are multi-role vessels designed to bolster the UK’s maritime defence capabilities, serving alongside destroyers and aircraft carriers. The first vessel will launch this year, marking a milestone in the UK’s naval modernisation efforts.

In addition, Survitec will provide comprehensive after-market solutions, including servicing and maintenance, leveraging its extensive service network across key ports globally.
