Gurugram. 15 November 2021. SpiceHealth, one of the country’s youngest and fastest growing healthcare startup, has launched its first mobile testing laboratory in Punjab – at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport – to conduct Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), Rapid (RT)-PCR and Rapid Antigen tests. Amritsar is one of the most populous cities in Punjab and SpiceHealth’s mobile lab will help ramp-up Covid testing at the airport, in the City as well as adjoining districts.
SpiceHealth, a healthcare company founded by the promoters of SpiceJet, was launched in November 2020 with the vision of introducing innovative healthcare solutions aimed at serving the masses. The Company was the first to introduce the innovative concept of mobile testing laboratories that could be placed in remote areas, in containment zones, in villages where access to hospitals and medical facilities was and remains a challenge. It has conducted 5 million RT-PCR tests in the short span since its launch.
Avani Singh, CEO, SpiceHealth said, “After successfully launching our Covid mobile testing labs in some of the worst affected States, I am proud to announce the launch of our first-ever testing facility in Amritsar, Punjab. Situated at the Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, the testing facility will ensure all incoming and outgoing passengers from the city are duly tested, when required. The facility is also open to the residents of the City and adjoining areas. Testing is easy and simple and it helps save lives. We cannot afford to drop our guards at this juncture. SpiceHealth is proud to continue helping curtail the pandemic.”
Last month, SpiceHealth had launched a Covid mobile testing laboratory at Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. The Company operates multiple Covid vaccination centers in five States. SpiceHealth’s RT-PCR testing labs, accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories and Indian Council of Medical Research, have been successfully conducting the country’s fastest RT-PCR tests at just INR 450/-. Each lab has the ability to conduct 3,000 tests per day.
SpiceHealth’s first mobile RT-PCR testing facility in Delhi was inaugurated by Sh. Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister and the then Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan. In January 2021, SpiceHealth had launched a first-of-its-kind genome sequencing laboratory at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport to help in identifying and containing the new mutant variants of Covid-19 virus unwittingly carried by passengers travelling from other countries.
SpiceHealth had set-up mobile laboratories and testing facilities across Haridwar and at five locations along the border of Uttarakhand for pilgrims visiting the Kumbh Mela as part of a MoU with the state government.
SpiceHealth recently launched its first state-of-the-art pathology lab at Sama Hospital, New Delhi, foraying into pathology laboratory services to offer a wide range of affordable testing like haematology, clinical pathology, biochemistry, Complete Blood Count (CBC), Liver Function Test, Kidney Function Test, Lipid Profile, Blood Sugar, Urine Routine etc.
Earlier, SpiceHealth had launched SpiceOxy – a compact, portable, non-invasive ventilation device, which is an effective solution for patients with mild to moderate breathing issues and had also introduced fingertip pulse oximeter, a handy device making it easier for people to measure the oxygen level of the blood.
