New Delhi, February 4, 2020: Rolls-Royce, one of the world’s leading industrial technology companies, will be showcasing its defence, power and propulsion solutions for India at DefExpo 2020at Stall No.R2, Hall No.3 from February 5-9, 2020.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to learn more about our “mighty” MT30, the world’s most power-dense marine gas turbine in service today. Also on display at the DefExpo from the Rolls-Royce Power Systems’ table are solutions for both land and naval defence, including the Integrated Bridge System that is an advanced marine automation system for efficient ship operation from our MTU brand.

Our MTU engines currently propel and power many Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy vessels, as well as India’s indigenously built Arjun Main Battle Tanks. More than 750 Rolls-Royce engines of 10 engine types are powering aircrafts of the Indian military supported by a dedicated Defence Service Delivery Centre in Bengaluru. With Service teams present at several locations along the Indian Coastline, the company is certainly geared to support the varied needs of naval customers in India. We also employ a skilled talent pool of engineers at our Engineering Centres in Bengaluru and Pune, who provide engineering capability for global projects spanning research and development as well as new product design and development.

MT30 – Powering the Future
Proven at sea, MT30 can deliver its full power of up to 40MW (depending on application) in ambient temperatures up to 38°C, without any power degradation through life of ship allowing the ship to operate anywhere in the world without loss of performance or power. In just over a decade, the MT30 is operating or has been selected for all conceivable propulsion arrangements across seven ship types in ten naval programmes around the world. This includes mechanical, hybrid and fully integrated-electric, with power delivered to water-jets, controllable and fixed-pitch propellers, depending on application.
EM 50-2 – Advanced Marine Automation System
Among the land and naval defence capabilities on show from the MTU brand, are solutions for marine automation including the EM 50-2 Integrated Bridge System. The EM 50-2 is a modern integrated bridge responsible for providing access to all information that is crucial to safe and efficient ship operation, that collates information previously scattered over diverse displays at a standardized display using a single graphic interface which enables faster overview using an ultra-modern visuals concept.
