New Delhi. 05 January 2025. The Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar delivered a stirring address to National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets at the Republic Day Camp 2025, emphasizing the importance of unity, discipline, and nationalism in shaping the nation’s future. Addressing an audience that included Lt. Gen. Gurbirpal Singh, Director General of NCC, distinguished officers, staff, and cadets, the Vice President extended warm New Year wishes and acknowledged the NCC’s unique role in fostering a spirit of nation-building.

Commending the cadets for their commitment and discipline, the Vice President described the month-long camp, which brings together over 2,000 cadets from across the country, as a “remarkably rewarding experience” that promotes cultural exchange and lifelong friendships.

In his address, the Vice President lauded the NCC’s rapid strides in gender equality, highlighting the organization’s inclusive approach as a testament to India’s progressive ethos. “Your discipline and commitment not only fill me but the entire nation with pride,” he remarked, urging cadets to embrace their role as the “youth demographic dividend” that will drive India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

India’s Unstoppable Rise

Reflecting on India’s progress, the Vice President underscored the nation’s transformation into a global economic powerhouse. “India is no longer a nation with potential; it is a nation rising,” he declared, citing examples of unparalleled infrastructure growth, digital penetration with 6.5 billion monthly digital transactions, and the country’s emergence as a favorite investment destination.

He attributed this progress to government initiatives that prioritize merit-based mechanisms and create opportunities for young minds to realize their potential. The Vice President encouraged cadets to leverage their NCC training and certificates to contribute to national growth, describing the organization as a crucible for developing virtues that foster individual and collective excellence.

Five Pillars of National Transformation

The Vice President outlined the “Panch-Pran” or five foundational pillars for India’s transformation:

  • Social Harmony: Promoting unity that transcends diversity.
  • Family Enlightenment: Nurturing patriotic values at the grassroots level.
  • Environmental Protection: Emphasizing sustainability as a tribute to Bharat Maa.
  • Swadeshi and Self-Reliance: Building a self-reliant economy as the cornerstone of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
  • Civic Duties: Encouraging citizens to uphold fundamental duties alongside their rights.

“These pillars forge a nationalistic spirit that weaves responsibility, values, and environmental awareness into India’s journey toward unity and self-reliance,” he stated.

A Call to Action

Urging cadets to remain vigilant against anti-national forces, the Vice President stressed the importance of unwavering dedication to the motherland. He described their generation as the architects of India’s glory in 2047 and called upon them to practice the principles of Panch-Pran in daily life.

“The challenges are significant, but so are the opportunities,” he said, emphasizing that India’s rise is globally acknowledged and envied. He urged cadets to embody the values of discipline, decorum, and civic responsibility to ensure the nation’s progress.

The address concluded with the Vice President extending his best wishes to the cadets, urging them to contribute to a harmonious and prosperous India. “Your generation will lead India’s journey to becoming a global leader by 2047,” he said.
