Moscow. 16 August 2022. The opening ceremony of Airborne Platoon competition was held in Blida today. This year, for the first time, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria is hosting a competition as part of the International Army Games 2022.
The ceremony was attended by Saïd Shangriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian National People’s Army. He welcomed the contestants and wished them good luck in the forthcoming competitions. Russian manufacturers together with the Ministry of Defence presented: a special purpose parachute system Tandem-400, Dal’noliyot, Stayer-2, Berkut, parachute Cadet 100D, electronic parachute safety device, electronic parachute safety system, new reserve parachute system Z-7 and a line of sport parachute systems.
Algerian Chief of General Staff praised the exhibition of the latest parachute models and expressed his confidence in further cooperation between the Russian and Algerian armed forces. Airborne Platoon 2022 international competition is taking place in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria from 15 to 27 August.
The competition involves Bufarik airfield, Bugar training ground, Charchal and Ain Huissara. Teams from 16 countries are participating: People’s Republic of China, Republic of Belarus, Russian Federation, People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Nicaragua, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Mali, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Syrian Arab Republic, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Republic of India, Republic of Sudan and Republic of Uzbekistan.
