Changi, Singapore. 23 February 2024 . Airbus has signed a partnership agreement with the National University of Singapore (NUS) to advance collaboration on curricula, talent, and technology development for the aerospace industry.
Consequently, NUS became the first university in Asia-Pacific to join the Airbus Academic Partnership (AAP) programme.
Under the agreement, Airbus and NUS aim to develop a global talent pipeline in the aviation, defence, and space fields, working closely to map competencies, foster relevant skills and widen campus recruitment efforts.
“We are excited to join forces with Airbus, with whom we share the vision to build a future-ready workforce. Together, we look forward to developing the requisite skills and aptitude for students to succeed in the aerospace industry,” said Joan Tay, Senior Director, Centre for Future-ready Graduates, National University of Singapore.
“We are happy to welcome NUS as the newest partner to our global academic network. Developing the right skills and a strong talent pool are core to shaping the future of aerospace, and we are confident that this partnership will enable us to achieve this goal,” said Paul Coignec, Head of Human Resources, Asia-Pacific, Airbus.
Besides talent development, the five-year partnership will also see Airbus and NUS extend their collaboration in areas such as research and technology, innovation entrepreneurship, sustainability, and inclusion and diversity.
Launched in June 2023, the AAP recruits leading academic partners with the aim of fostering potential synergies in the development of the next generation of aerospace professionals. To-date, 15 well established partners from across the globe are onboard the AAP programme.
