Ottawa. 30 May 2018 . Key actor of land defense, Nexter, a company of KNDS, is present at CANSEC, whose 2018 edition is taking place on May 30th and 31st in Ottawa (Canada). Always ready to meet the operational needs of the Canadian Forces, Nexter is exhibiting a range of its product and of its know-how.
Main French system integrator of wheeled armored vehicles (VBCI, TITUS®, ARAVIS®…) and artillery systems (CAESAR®, 105 LG1, shells…), the Nexter’s business scope includes the supply of systems, equipment and ammunition for armed forces. In France, Nexter is at the heart of the SCORPION program, through the renovation of the LECLERC tank and the development of the future GRIFFON and JAGUAR vehicles within the GME (temporary business venture between Nexter, Arquus and Thales) as well as the VBMR Light.
In Canada, Nexter is equipping the Canadian Land Army with the 105LG1 lightweight towed gun which is particularly suitable for intervention and rapid reaction forces. It has been rolled out by the Canadian Army Reserve Force. Lightness, reliability and robustness are the major assets of this product of unequaled firepower, which can be towed by a light vehicle or transported by an average helicopter as well as parachuted from a tactical transport plane. With a firing rate of up to 12 rounds per minute, this « Combat Proven » gun can be integrated into any fire control system.
In the protection of the soldiers, Nexter is proving its know-how in robotics, illustrated by the extent of the capacity spectrum of its NERVA LG reconnaissance robot. The amplitude of its range of payloads (manipulator arm, 3D scans, firing detection, CBRN detection) and mobility kits (caterpillars) enable the NERVA® family to perfectly meet the many missions that can be entrusted to them, such as detection of suspicious objects under vehicles, destruction of IEDs or site surveillance.
To combat CBRN threats effectively, and in the continuity of the supply of decontamination systems for the Canadian Army in 2014, Nexter is presenting NBC-Sys solutions, including a panoramic vision breathing system dedicated to personnel working in a contaminated atmosphere.
