Gowind ® corvettes Bani YasOn 14 th May 2024, Naval Group, the UAE Navy and Tawazun Council have signed an in-service support contract covering 3 years of maintenance for the Gowind ® corvettes Bani Yas and Al Emarat.

Through this In-Service Support contract, Naval Group is honored to be able to continue its long-term cooperation with the UAE Navy, after the construction of the Gowind® corvettes of the Bani Yas class in the Naval Group Lorient shipyard in France. The first corvette was delivered to the UAE Navy in October 2023 and the second one in June 2024.

This In-Service Support contract will contribute to maintain these ships at their optimal operational level. It covers several technical stops during the next 3 years for the two Gowind® corvettes at the UAE Navy Base.

Naval Group will provide the UAE Navy with a dedicated in-service support, including:

  • Base maintainers Training
  • Technical Assistance on site with experts from Naval Group
  • Delivery of Base spare parts for the technical stops
  • Involvement of a local shipyard

In addition, Naval Group is already working with the authorities to prepare the next steps to increase the footprint of our support in the UAE and to bring more digitalization to such support and to the maintenance.
