MRO Association of India announces its annual two-day bespoke conference & exhibition, Aero India MRO Aerospace & Defence 2018 to be held on December 4 $ 5, 2019 at Hotel Pride Plaza, Aerocity, New Delhi. Participants in previous events include Air India Engineering Services Pvt, Ltd., SpiceJet Technik, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, GMR AeroTechnik, Avioil, SKM, TVH, Birds ExecuJet, Maini Aerospace, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Lufthansa Technik, Safran Group, Horizon Aerospace, SEC Aerospace, Maarg Technologies to name a few. States Governments included Govt of Gujarat, Govt of Andhra Pradesh, Govt of Maharashtra.
The Government of India in its latest Union Budget has laid emphasis on the MRO sector. Union Budget 201920’s focus on the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry has been welcomed by the industry. In her speech, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance Minister said that the Government will leverage India’s engineering advantage and potential to achieve self-reliance in this vital aviation segment by adopting suitable policy interventions for the development of the industry. She also mentioned that the Government is undertaking measures to make India a more attractive FDI destination in sectors like aviation by opening up further after stake-holders consultation. Work in this direction has already begun in the Ministries of Civil Aviation and Finance & Revenue.
“We need to see a policy that will put Indian MRO Industry in a level playing field against the MRO industry in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Dubai and Sri Lanka, in terms of reducing taxes,” said Anand Stanley, President & Managing Director, Airbus India & South Asia.
On the other hand, Luigi Celmi, CEO, Lufthansa Technik Services India said, “Aero MRO India A&D is organized with a genuine interest for the MRO Industry and with a deep knowledge and understanding of the MRO activities in India; the additional familiarity of the organizers with the key stakeholders (both from private sector as well as from various ministry) is also another unique advantage when planning to be part of this event. The two-day conference includes topics such as Regulatory Frame Work, Issues relating to Custom, GST impact on MRO Industry, Skill Development, Civil-Military Cooperation, Panel Discussions on various topics pertaining to the growth of Indian MRO Industry.
