New Delhi. 22 May 2017. Reliable sources from South Block have informed that Major Leetul Gogoi has been awarded COAS Commendation Card for sustained efforts on Counter Insurgency operations .
This recognition comes even as a Court of Inquiry into the tying of the Kashmiri man to the jeep’s bonnet purportedly as a shield against stone pelters is going on. While many have spoken against his move to use a human shield, defence officials and veterans have been openly appreciating his presence of mind.
