Moscow. 26 August 2021. ARMY 2021 International Military-Technical Forum (IMTF), saw the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu paying special attention to stands dedicated to military-technical cooperation, education , medicine and international partnerships, while visiting the exhibition .
Russian Defence Minister began inspection of the expositions from the stand of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) and Rosoboronexport. The head of the service, Dmitry Shugaev, told the head of the military department that delegations at the highest level were represented at the forum – people who make decisions about buying our equipment. According to Dmitry Shugaev, in the past three days of the exhibition, a number of important major negotiations were held.
The head of the FSMTC stressed that the T-90MS tank, the TOS-A1 heavy flame-throwing systems, the IFV on the Boomerang platform, the Il-76MD90A military transport aircraft, the Mi family helicopters, the Antey- 4000, coastal missile systems Rubezh, automatic rifles AK-12, AK-15, AK-19 and other weapons.
The head of the military department visited the exposition of ERA military innovative technopolis. There he was presented with the ERA electric car, developed in the technopolis for the Russian Armed Forces. According to the developers, during the exercises Slavic Brotherhood the electric car ERA confirmed, and in some respects exceeded the expected result. Also, the car has been tested on sand dunes in difficult road and weather conditions. Another development of the technopolis is the Oko complex for detecting and recognizing weapons and equipment with laser target illumination for hitting with high-precision weapons.
The head of the military department focused on developments in the field of medicine and education. Together with the Minister of Healthcare Veronika Skvortsova, he examined the exposition where medical developments are presented. In particular, the students of the branch of the Military Medical Academy demonstrated a multifunctional high-tech robot simulator, which is used in the educational process in the simulation centres of the academy for training cadets, residents, students. At one of them, the ministers were shown the provision of emergency assistance.
This year, the Forum presented the exposition “Military Education – Advanced Technologies and Digital Transformation”, where military educational institutions presented a number of virtual simulators.
Virtual reality simulator for tactical and fire training of airborne troops and special forces Chameleon VR. Duel, developed taking into account the Syrian combat experience, was presented by the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School. As the Russian Defence Minister was told, its uniqueness lies in the fact that a soldier is fighting not with a virtual enemy, but with a real serviceman in a virtual environment. Examining the virtual simulator, Sergei Shoigu noted that such simulators should be used not only for training cadets, but also supply to the troops.
Another development is intended for training pilots. The Diamond DA-42T flight simulator (the Russian version of the Austrian Diamond aircraft) is now being tested at the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots. It is a completely identical training cockpit of an aircraft, and pilots will be able to work out all sorts of difficult situations on it. The head of the military department drew the attention of the heads of the military control bodies that such simulators should be delivered to educational institutions simultaneously with combat training equipment.
In addition, the head of the military department was shown the Smart Auditorium system with integrated elements of artificial intelligence and a virtual assistant – an innovative development in the field of pre-university education, which is a cloud-based intranet database of scientific materials in all academic disciplines. The Minister of Defence of Russia also visited the expositions of civilian universities that presented their developments at the forum, in particular, the stand of the Bauman Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
During the inspection, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu also visited the expositions of foreign countries presented at the Forum, including the expositions of Kazakhstan, India, Belarus, Pakistan.
