New Delhi. 26 July 2022. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on 26 July to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil war in 1999. Known as “Operation Vijay” the conflict resulted in the eviction of Pakistani Intruders from Indian soil.
To pay homage to the martyrs of the Kargil war, Major General Dinesh Hooda, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area along with Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, other Ranks and Veterans laid wreath at the war memorial at Kamptee. On the solemn occasion, the General Officer interacted with the soldiers and veterans, while remembering the deeds of the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice on the icy heights to protect their motherland.
