New Delhi. 09 February 2022. On 09.02.2022, CISF took over the security of Surat Airport with the total sanctioned strength of 360 personnel. The unit will be headed by a Deputy Commandant rank officer.
During induction ceremony, Shri Harsh Bhai Sanghavi, HM of Gujarat, Shri CR Patil. MP Lok Sabha, Smt. Zankhanaben H Patel & Smt. Sangeetaben Patil, MLAs of Surat, Shri Ajay Kumar Tomar, IPS, Police Commissioner of Surat, Shri P.S. Phalnikar, IPS, ADG (APS), officials of AAI & CISF and representatives of airlines operators and other stakeholders were present.
The program was followed by Band display, Drill display, Krav-Maga demo, K9 performance and hoisting of the CISF flag. A Bada khana was also organised for the newly inducted personnel.
The CISF will provide round-the-clock security cover to the Surat Airport. With this induction, total airports under CISF security cover raised to 65 as on date.
