Nagpur. 16 August 2023. A part of Mission LiFE and an outreach activity, HQ Maintenance Command, IAF has adopted Ghorad village at Kamleshwar Taluka of Nagpur district under ‘Village Adoption
Programme’ in consonance with ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav’.
Air Mshl Vibhas Pande, AOC-in-C presented a well stocked library set up inside a refurbished prefabricated portable cabin on the occasion of 77th Independence Day.
During the address to the villagers the AOC-in-C emphasized the significance of development of villages for the overall progress of India since rural areas play a key role in shaping its identity, culture, economic growth and prosperity. He also informed the villagers that lectures on career guidance, hygiene and sanitation will also be conducted shortly. He also dedicated an orchard of 100 fruit bearing trees to the village for enhancement of green cover and livelihood in future.
Mrs. Ruchira Pande, President, AFWWA(R) distributed school bags and nutrition packets to the school going children of the village & also gifted water purifiers. Sports goods were also presented to promote ‘Khelo India’ mission.
77th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour at the Ghorad village in the presence of the villagers, students and air warriors of Maintenance Command.
