New Delhi. 10 August 2024.  The Himveer Wives Welfare Association (HWWA), dedicated to the welfare of the families of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), celebrated the vibrant festival of Hariyali Teej with great enthusiasm today. The grand event was hosted at the 22nd Battalion, ITBP, Tigri Camp, New Delhi.

The occasion was marked by a series of engaging activities organized by HWWA members, including a cultural programme and the Teej Queen competition. The traditional ritual of singing while enjoying the swings added a festive charm to the celebration.

Addressing the gathering, HWWA Chairperson,  Gauri Rasgotra, highlighted the significance of the Teej festival. She remarked, “This festival is an integral part of our Indian culture and tradition, symbolizing love, dedication and trust between husband and wife. Women observe fasts and offer prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on this day. Festivals like Teej teach us to honour and carry forward our traditions.”

Smt. Rasgotra also urged HWWA members to embrace their traditions and culture with pride, making them an essential part of their lives. “It is our responsibility to cherish and preserve this vital aspect of our identity,” she added.

The cultural performances and the Teej Queen competition were the highlights of the event, delighting all attendees. Senior members of HWWA also graced the occasion with their presence.
