New Delhi. 05 February 2024. Gen Manoj Pande, Chief of the Army Staff felicitated Republic Day Parade Marching Contingents and the Military & Pipe bands at Cariappa Parade Ground, New Delhi . The solemn ceremony was attended by Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar, GOC Delhi Area and other senior officers of Indian Army.
A total of eight marching contingents and 22 Military & Pipe bands from the Army had participated in the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path. The Chief of the Army Staff presented the awards to the winning contingent. Madras Regiment was adjudged the Best Marching Contingent, while Bombay Engineering Group & Centre were adjudged Runners Up Marching Contingent. In the Military Band category, Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre and Army Air Defence Centre were adjudged Winners and Runners Up. 14 Gorkha Training Centre and Ladhak Scouts Regimental Centre were adjudged Winners and Runners Up in the Best Pipe Band category. The COAS also presented cash prize to Sikh Regiment Contingent for being adjudged as the Best Marching Contingent by the MoD, while Rajputana Rifles Regiment Contingent was awarded for being Popular Choice Contingent.
While interacting with the Contingents, the COAS complimented the participants for a marvellous display of high standards of drill, turnout and discipline during the Republic Day Parade.
