Basel. 14 February 2020 . AMAC Aerospace has refurbished and reconfigured Airbus Airliner A319 for the first time. The technicians of AMAC Aerospace will also execute the first KA-Band installation on an Airbus A321. In addition, an Airbus A330 is shortly expected in Basel and will undergo a heavy base maintenance check.
AMAC Aerospace are proud to announce a successfully refurbishment on an Airbus Airliner A319 of a Swiss airline for the first time. “We are very proud to have been awarded from a Swiss airline company and to make a step towards the commercial market. We are delighted to have performed this maintenance input for a commercial operator. Furthermore the Airbus A319 we installed the maximum amount of passenger seats and added an additional row,” said Alexis Ott, Director Maintenance Sales & Key Account Management.
The refurbishment at AMAC was fulfilled during the downtime of some minor maintenance tasks and the aircraft was released to service ten days after its arrival.
AMAC Aerospace utilizes a mixed business model in Bodrum, Turkey, which complements the commercial sector of aviation.
KA-Band installation and maintenance checks on Airbus’ aircraft
AMAC signed a contract for a KA-Band installation on an Airbus A321. It will be AMAC’s first KA-Band installation on an Airbus A321. AMAC is extending its existing STC capabilities, which is already covering Airbus A319 and A320 ceo and neo types.
An Airbus A330 will arrive to Basel for a heavy base maintenance check. In parallel, AMAC will remove the full VIP cabin for structural inspections and several repairs and improvements. AMAC will update all technical systems and install the cabin back in a perfect condition. The work is expected to be completed in a short down-time.
AMAC will also welcome a privately-owned Airbus A319 in Basel to undergo a refurbishment. AMAC will carry out a partial cabin refurbishment. Several seats will be stripped and recovered with new materials.
A new customer signed a contract for a 24 month check on an Airbus A318. In conjunction, AMAC will carry out a landing gear-, a break-, a thrust reverser- and a forward engines mounts overhaul on the privately-owned Airbus.
Two new projects on Boeing B737
A privately-owned Boeing B737 will arrive in Basel beginning of February to undergo a 3C-Check and landing gear overhaul. Another privately-owned Boeing B737 has already arrived at AMAC’s hangar to undergo a A-Check with a ground time of one week.
