- Envitia to develop bespoke software to improve interoperability across US Army organizations and Coalition partners
Reston, VA., 31 May 2019: Envitia today announced that it was selected by the US Army Geospatial Center (AGC) to develop an innovative capability that will improve interoperability across the Army Geospatial Enterprise and between Coalition partners.
Envitia, which specializes in geospatial and data software and services, will rapidly develop and deploy a prototype Portrayal Registry for the AGC that will manage and share standardized mapping elements as a centralized service. This will enable military units to share common symbology and mapping elements so that each user views the same information, but in a view that works for them.
This will improve interoperability across the US Army, US Department of Defense (DOD) and Coalition partners.
“We are proud to have been selected by the U.S. Army Geospatial Center for this specialist project”, said Envitia CEO Nabil Lodey. “Envitia will leverage Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards and integrate with our leading software products to deliver this capability.”
This project is part of wider efforts to ensure that front line troops can rely on consistent geospatial information for critical decision-making.
“We are looking forward to a continued partnership with the US Army and its Geospatial Center”, added Lodey.
