São José dos Campos, Brazil. 16 February 2023. Embraer Defense & Security will promote its portfolio of products and innovative solutions for defence and security markets at IDEX in Abu Dhabi, to be held between February 20 and 24. Embraer will be located at booth 08-B08.
“The Middle East is a very important region for us, and IDEX is one of the finest events to promote our products’ portfolio,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO, Embraer Defense & Security. “We are glad to have the opportunity to meet with customers, partners and suppliers during the event.”
Embraer’s Defense & Security products and solutions, which are present in more than 60 countries, include the multi-mission transport aircraft C-390 Millennium and the A-29 Super Tucano light attack and training aircraft, in addition to broader solutions for air, land, sea, space and cyber domains.
Since it entered into service with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) in 2019, the C-390 has proven its capability, reliability, and performance across a variety of missions. FAB’s fleet of five aircraft, all refuelling versions, designated KC-390, have already accrued more than 7,500 flying hours, and recent numbers have shown a mission completion rate of 99%, demonstrating outstanding productivity in its category. Embraer has orders for the C-390 Millennium from Portugal & Hungary, both NATO member nations. The Netherlands, also a NATO nation, selected the C-390 Millennium in 2022.
Rugged and versatile, the A-29 aircraft can perform a wide range of missions, including light attack, surveillance, aerial interception, and counterinsurgency. The aircraft was selected by over 15 air forces all over the world, including the United States Air Force (USAF).
Responsible for the Brazilian Army’s Integrated Border Monitoring System (SISFRON) implementation, one of the biggest border surveillance projects in the world, Embraer will also promote area radars and terrestrial systems, which offer equipment such as the SABER M60, a specific radar for low-altitude surveillance and air defence, and the SABER M200 VIGILANTE, a radar for early warning air surveillance.
