  • Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services will be recognized for shortening airframe check times and improving the quality of the product delivered by going paperless

Nashville, TN – November 14, 2024 – Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services (EAMS) has been honored with an Aviation Week Network Laureate Award in the MRO category. The award recognizes Embraer’s heavy maintenance facilities for shortening airframe check times by transitioning to a paperless system during a period of high demand and full hangars. As part of this initiative, more than 500 digital devices were distributed to technicians for daily operations. The award ceremony will take place at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, on March 6, 2025.

This digitization process, which leverages FleetCycle software, has delivered several key benefits to EAMS including a reduction in paperwork errors, improved technician productivity and enhanced communication within the team. For example, converting task cards into digital files has streamlined communication on issues such as non-routine work approvals, reducing a process that once took days to just hours.

Additionally, EAMS saw an 85% reduction in paper usage when compared to the previous year, contributing to a more sustainable work environment. Overall, Embraer has been able to reduce turnaround times and increase predictability.

“Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services is expanding its presence in the US market and abroad, and investing in digital solutions is a key component of our growth strategy as it enables quick turnarounds and increased capacity to better serve our customers, while remaining focused on safety and quality,” said Carlos Naufel, President and CEO, Embraer Services & Support. “We are honored to receive this award, as it represents an important recognition for Embraer Services & Support and especially for our commercial MRO team.”

“The entire Embraer team is honored with this award for EAMS. It is a true testament to the hard working men and women of our truly inspiring MRO department. I am very thankful to Aviation Week and the industry for this recognition. We not only deliver a remarkably innovated product, but we do it with the highest level of safety and quality,” said Frank Stevens, Vice-President of Global MRO Centers, Embraer Services & Support.

“Transitioning the MRO to a digital documentation environment is not just a technological leap; it’s a testament to the people who drive progress. By equipping our teams with smarter tools, we empower them to work faster, safer, and more collaboratively, turning every challenge into an opportunity for innovation,” said Jason Grafton, Managing Director for MRO Services, Embraer Services & Support.
