Haifa, Israel. 08 June 2021. Elbit Systems UK Limited. has been awarded an approximately $16 million (approximately £11.5 million) initial contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to provide the UK Armed Forces with XACT Night Vision Goggles (“NVG”). The initial contract will be performed over an 18-month period with the potential for additional follow-on orders over a period of five years.
Under the contract, Elbit Systems UK will supply the lightweight micro binocular XACT nv33 NVGs in a helmet-mounted configuration. XACT nv33 NVG improves mission efficiency during dark conditions and enables safe, off-road vehicle driving without headlights. Systems from the XACT family have been selected by a number of NATO countries including Germany and the Netherlands, as well as by Israel, and are operationally proven.

The manufacturing and delivery of the XACT nv33 NVGs will create more skilled jobs in the UK and demonstrate freedom of action and value for money to the UK customer”.
Elbit Systems develops and supplies night vision goggles for a range of customers, including the U.S., the Netherlands, Germany, Israel and others. In the past 18-months, Elbit Systems secured $95 million in orders for NVGs: for the U.S. Army’s’ Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (“ENVG-B”) systems, the U.S. Marine Corps’ Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (“SBNVG”) systems, the German Federal Polices’ special forces and special operation units and the Armed Forces of the Netherlands. This is the third contract award for Elbit Systems UK since the beginning of 2021, adding to the $166 million contract for maritime training technologies and the $137 million contract award for the future target acquisition solution (D-JFI).
