Cairo, 04 December 2023. The 3rd edition of the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) 2023 is being held at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC), New Cairo, Egypt during 4-7 December 2023. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the R&D wing of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India is participating at this mega event, as it presents a unique opportunity for DRDO labs to showcase their latest technology, equipment and systems across land, sea, and air. As part of the integrated India Pavilion, DRDO is participating to showcase Indian defence export prowess ranging from design to production to development.
DRDO is primarily engaged in design and development of many state-of-the-art systems and technologies like Missiles and missile-based Air Defence System, Light Combat Aircraft, Main Battle Tanks, Gun System, UAVs and Counter UAVs, Multi-barrel Rocket Launcher, Radars, Naval Systems and Life Science and soldier support related products.
Many Systems & Technologies developed by DRDO have been inducted into the Indian Armed Forces after extensive field trials. In the process, these systems have attained benchmarks of international standards and some have been exported too. DRDO has enabled the Indian industries to produce quality defence systems for export, which help in establishing and nurturing long term relationships with friendly countries besides strengthening their Defence Forces and Homeland Security.

- Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) System
- Astra – Air to Air Missile
- Pinaka Weapon System
- Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS)
- MBT Arjun Mk 1A
- Akash Missile System
- Submarine Sonar Suite (SMS-X)
- Portable Drive Detection Sonar (PDDS-X)
- Compact Hull Mounted Sonar System for Ship(HMS-X2)
- Identification of the friend or foe (IFF) System
With its comprehensive spectrum of technologies and systems encompassing the entire range of defence requirements, DRDO is the driving force behind self-reliance in Indian defence sector. DRDO’s participation in this biennial mega event is an opportunity to leverage world class ‘Made in India’ Products, Technologies and Systems by all friendly countries.
