New Delhi. 09 February 2019. The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir reviewed the passing-out parade of the Delhi Police constables, marking successful completion of their intensive basic training, at a function here today.
In his address on the occasion, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir congratulated the newly inducted Constables and hoped they would undertake the challenging tasks of Delhi Police such as fighting against terrorism, security of citizens specially the women, elderly people, VVIP security, law and order and Traffic control etc.
The Minister said that the dread of Delhi Police in the minds of criminals and unrelenting trust of the common man indicates the popularity and success of the Delhi Police. He said that terrorism is a serious problem and to deal with it, Delhi Police has raised the Swat Commando force. Recently, Delhi Police has launched a separate Swat commando force of Women police personnel and this is a step towards women empowerment.
Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said that the Delhi Police has taken new initiatives such as online FIR registration and application of technologies in solving motor vehicle theft cases. He called upon the Delhi Police to remain ahead of time by improving their professional skills from time to time and serve the public with more humanitarian approach.
During the basic training, the constables were trained in law, police science, criminology, computer application, cyber crime and human rights issues with prominence on professionalism, discipline and good behavior. The training laid emphasis on safety and security of women.
