- Art Exhibition at Bikaner House Showcases the Creative Brilliance of Military Fraternity Artists
New Delhi, Feb 28, 2025 – Art, resilience, and identity come together in a spectacular showcase as IZEL: Artistry Beyond Barriers opens at Bikaner House from February 28 to March 3, 2025. This groundbreaking exhibition celebrates the artistic talent of military spouses and family members, giving them their well-deserved space in the art world.
The inauguration will be graced by Sangeeta Saxena, wife of the Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, marking a prestigious beginning to this unique event. Adding to its significance, IZEL has been curated by Veena Naravane, an art connoisseur and wife of former Army Chief Gen M.M. Naravane, and Milli Choudhary, an accomplished artist and herself a military daughter and spouse.
The exhibition features a diverse range of artists, each presenting a deeply personal narrative through their chosen medium, be it mosaics, realism, impressionism, abstraction, or devotional art.
Derived from the Arabic word for “unique” or “exclusive,” IZEL embodies the essence of this exhibition—a testament to the creative spirit that thrives despite the constant upheavals of military life. The collection showcases the works of artists , Anupama Singh ( wife of former Army Chief Gen JJ Singh ) , Anita Kundalkar, Dharmesh Yadav, Monica, Preeti Joshi, Tvesha Singh, Milli Choudhary and Shikha Mamgain, among others. Each artist weaves a tale of passion, perseverance, and transformation, proving that art is both a refuge and a voice.
From the intricate mosaics of Anita Kundalkar, symbolizing the complexity of human experiences, to Anupama Singh’s evocative portraits, which capture silent resilience and strength, the exhibition is a visual journey through untold stories. Monica’s Radha Krishna series explores spirituality and emotion, while Milli Choudhary’s impressionist landscapes radiate vibrant optimism. Each piece is a testament to the profound intersection of duty and self-expression.
“IZEL is not just an exhibition; it is a movement—one that acknowledges and elevates the voices of those who stand resilient behind the uniform. These artists have carved their rightful space in the art world, proving that creativity knows no boundaries,” say curators Veena Naravane and Milli Choudhary.
The public is invited to witness this extraordinary fusion of life, service, and artistry at Bikaner House, New Delhi, from February 28 to March 3, 2025.
