New Delhi. Indian Army is very fast moving from Platform Centric force to Network Centric force said Lt Gen Nitin Kohli AVSM VSM, Signal Officer-in-Chief and Colonel Commandant, Corps of Signals, Indian Army while launching Defcom 2015 and addressing a gathering of Indian Army Officers and Industry representatives in New Delhi.
Army is working on the holistic and synergistic approach including leveraging Commercially Off the Shelf (COTS) technologies/products and ICT Electronics Cyber (ICTEC) infrastructure with optimum utilisiation of the Human Resource for digital Army. Defence Communication is a force multiplier. Technological advancements have made seamless integration of commander with the troops on ground possible in the Tactical Battle Area.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Corps of Signals, Indian Army is organising DEFCOM 2015 scheduled on 23-24 November 2015 at New Delhi. Indian Industry, Academia, R&D Organisations and Defence services will assemble to analyse critical aspects for development of Information, Communications, Technology, Electronics and Cyber (ICTEC) infrastructure to meet the requirements of a futuristic battlefield. The objective of DEFCOM 2015 is to provide participants an insight into the realisation of ‘Digital Army’.
Defcom 2015 will deliberate on Futuristic Battle Field: Realisation of Digital Army in the Tactical Battle Area; Leveraging Commercially Off the Shelf (COTS) Solutions for Enhancing the Information and Communication Potential in the Tactical Battle Area; Leveraging Information and Communication Security Solutions to Enhance Operational Security and Transformation of Existing Human Capital of the Indian Army to Achieve a Digital Workforce Relevant to a Contemporary Battlefield Domain
