Nagpur. 21 June 2024. The Southern Route of Delta 5 Motorcycle Expedition team, Indian Army’s pan-India journey to commemorate the RAJAT JAYANTI OF KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS arrived in Kamptee, Maharashtra on 19 June 2024 traversing across the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana.
The team was Flagged In by Brig Rahul Dutt, Deputy General Officer Commanding, HQ Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area at Rajwar Hall at Guards Regimental Centre, Kamptee. The event witnessed a significant turnout of ex-servicemen, NCC cadets, and enthusiastic youth rallying in support of the expedition. Eight Kargil War Veterans were also felicitated as part of the event.
Embarking on a journey from Dhanushkodi on 12 Jun 2024, eight riders of the Regiment of Artillery will travel more than 4000 KMs to reach the Kargil War Memorial at Dras. This historical journey to honour the indomitable spirit and dedication of our soldiers will traverse through the mountainous regions of Manali, Sarchu and Nyoma over a period of 28 days to reach Dras on 10 July 2024.
The expedition will be Flagged Off on 20 June 2024, by Brig K Anand, Commandant, Guards Regimental Centre, Kamptee and continue its journey towards Bhopal. As the team rides from the southernmost tip of the country to the northern heights, their journey is a stoic tribute to the valiant heroes of the Kargil War and also symbolises the enduring spirit of the Regiment of Artillery and the Indian Army towards safe guarding our great Nation.
