Curtiss-Wright’s 2024 Technology Innovators Awards winning products and award levels are:

Gold Honorees:
Fortress™ CSR: The Fortress Crash Survivable Recorder (CSR) cockpit voice and flight data recorder (CVFDR) integrates 25-hour cockpit voice and data recording with additional data acquisition, a recorder independent power supply (RIPS), and a quick access recorder (QAR), all in a single compact and lightweight unit. It is engineered for defense and commercial applications and meets all USAF AFPAM 63.129, FAA, and EUROCAE ED-112A requirements. The 200-hour SD card-based integrated QAR function eliminates the need for a separate aircraft LRU, saving system power, weight, and cost while increasing system reliability.

V3-1222 Avionics Processor: The V3-1222 is Curtiss-Wright’s first 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 -based safety-certifiable processor board. It features integrated Intel® Iris® Xe graphics hardware and software that support COTS-available AC/AMC 20-152A DAL A data artifacts with the Intel® Airworthiness Evidence Package. The new SOSA™ aligned processor board significantly speeds the development of safety-certifiable avionics solutions, reduces program risk and accelerates time-to-deployment by providing system integrators with the board level data artifacts needed to support a system level avionics certification process.

Silver Honorees:

VPX3-623 Cisco Catalyst Switch: The VPX3-623 combines Cisco® Catalyst® ESS9300 Embedded Series Switch Technology with Curtiss-Wright’s industry-leading VPX ruggedization technology to deliver the high-speed and security capabilities needed for real-time, high-bandwidth, mission-critical networking in a CMOSS and SOSA aligned VPX module. This is the first Cisco IOS® XE-powered switch available in a VPX form factor.

Axon Pico: The Axon Pico is a miniature standalone, Power over Ethernet (PoE) capable data acquisition unit (DAU) for flight test instrumentation and aircraft monitoring applications. It captures eight channels of flexible ADC, supporting full-bridge, half-bridge, differential-ended, single-ended, RTD, thermocouple, ICP, and AC coupled measurements, with both voltage and current excitation. Its SWaP-optimized, rugged design and ability to daisy-chain multiple units together make it ideal for deployment in remote locations on an aircraft.
