Moscow. 21 August 2022. At the Joint Press Centre of International Army Games 2022 at the daily media briefing, Colonel General Alexander Lentsov, Chief Referee of the Games 2022, summarised the results of the 9th competition day.
In August 21, there were closing ceremonies for two competitions (Military Rally and Road Patrol) as well as competition in 9 contests.
Almost 165,000 spectators visited the grounds of International Army Games in one day. In total, over 1,418,000 people have visited the Games 2022.
Colonel General Aleksandr Lentsov informed the participants of the briefing about the competitions that are currently in the most active phase or have been completed.
Suvorov Attack competition ended yesterday in the People’s Republic of China. China was the best team, followed by the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation rounding out the top three.
Individual Race stage of Tank Biathlon competition was held at Alabino training ground near Moscow. In the first subgroup, gold and silver went to the Russian tank crews (first and third crews) and bronze went to the tank crews from Belarus. In the second subgroup, the first Myanmar crew came out on top, with the tank crew from Syria finishing second and Myanmar (third crew) also in third place.
In Uzbekistan, True Friend competition is underway. As of today, among the men’s teams, the first place has been taken by Russia, the second by Uzbekistan and the third by Algeria. Among the women’s teams are Uzbekistan, Russia and Algeria.
Two-state Sniper Frontier competition continues. In Venezuela, the combined arms competition is led by Russia, Uzbekistan and Venezuela after the first stage and two exercises of the second stage. In Iran, during the special forces competition, the preliminary results of the first stage show the top three as follows: Iran, Russia and Belarus.
Also in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the third stage of the Air Reconnaissance and Artillery Fire Correction at Night stage of Falcon Hunting competition is underway. After two stages of the competition, places were distributed as follows: Russia, Belarus and Iran.
According to preliminary results, Russia is now in the lead in the overall standings of the Games 2022, with Belarus in second place and Uzbekistan in third.
Today, according to the programme of the Games, there will be 14 competitions and drawing of lots of two competitions (Tank Biathlon, Road Patrol).
Colonel General Alexander Lentsov also noted that the Games are running smoothly, with no problematic issues or protests from the participating teams.
International Army Games 2022 (the Games 2022) are being held from August 13 to 27 simultaneously at 30 training grounds and 4 seas. 34 field and naval training competitions are hosted by 12 states across 3 continents.
More than 260 teams from 34 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and, for the first time, South America are taking part in the Games 2022. The most representative teams are from Belarus, Uzbekistan, Iran, Armenia and China. The total number of participants exceeds 4,500 people. For the first time, Bolivia and Rwanda participate in the Games.
Traditionally, International Army Games 2022 will finish with final relay of Tank Biathlon on August 27.
The closing ceremony of the Games 2022 will be held at Patriot Congress and Exhibition Centre with the participation of team representatives and the leadership of the military departments of the countries participating in the competitions.
