Chennai. 07 December, 2015. Indian Minister of Civil Aviation Ahok Gajapathi Raju inspected the Chennai Airport and expressed satisfaction over quick restoration of operations despite a number of damages caused to navigational aids and to perimeter wall of the airport due to rains. He asked all airlines to quickly start operations of both domestic and international flights as per their regular schedules.
The Minister appreciated the officers for the outstanding work they did in normalizingthe functioning of the airport in such a short time. Shri Raju also met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa and expressed thanks for the support that the State extended in resuming the operations at Chennai Airport.
Ms. Jayalalithaa requested Raju to ensure full fledged scheduled operations by the Airlines at the Chennai Airport at the earliest. Presently Air India, Indigo, Jet Airways, TrueJet have started domestic operations and Air India Express commenced international operations. By tomorrow most of the international airlines will start their operations.
