New Delhi. 23 October 2023. In continuation of the Police Commemoration Day celebrated on 21.10.2023 at National Police Memorial (NPM), Chanakyapuri, New Delhi and ongoing Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, a commemorative event was organized by CISF at National Police Memorial, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on 22.10.2023 to pay tributes to the bravehearts of CISF who laid down their lives in the service of the nation and to felicitate their families.
The supreme sacrifice made by its valiant bravehearts was commemorated by CISF by organizing a day long grand ceremony at the National Police Memorial, Chanakyapuri and CISF HQrs, New Delhi. 127 bravehearts of CISF who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, were commemorated on the occasion.
In the morning session, Sr. Officers and personnel of CISF paid homage to the bravehearts by offering flower petals at the Central Sculpture, NPM. The families of CISF bravehearts visited the ‘Wall of Valour’ where the names of all the bravehearts of CAPF and police, who made supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation are engraved in stone.
The families were then given a tour of the Police Museum and were shown the short video films that were prepared by the CISF as a tribute to bravehearts and on the diverse role of CISF on national security. Later the families of the bravehearts of CISF were felicitated by the Senior Officers.
In the afternoon session, Smt Nina Singh, Incharge DG, CISF felicitated the families of CISF bravehearts in a function organised at CISF HQrs, New Delhi. In her address, Smt Nina Singh remembered the courage and valour of CISF bravehearts who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
In the evening session, Smt Nina Singh, Incharge DG, CISF visited NPM, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi and laid wreath at the Central Sculpture and paid tributes to the bravehearts. Open air display of movies on valour and sacrifice of CAPF personnel, and the invaluable contributions of CAPF and Police Bravehearts in the service of the nation were showcased. A retreat ceremony was also organized on the occasion and an attractive band display was performed by CISF’s band team. Senior Officers, personnel and families of CISF of Delhi-NCR based Units were present on the occasion.
