New Delhi. 30 September 2024. Munition India Limited (MIL), a cornerstone of the Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), proudly celebrates its Raising Day on 01 October 2024. Established on 01 October 2021, MIL was born from the strategic restructuring of the Ordnance Factory Board into seven distinct Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) aimed at enhancing efficiency and self-reliance in defence production.

Since its inception, MIL has rapidly positioned itself as a key player in the defence sector, specializing in the production of ammunition, explosives, rockets, and bombs for both the Indian Armed Forces and international clients. As the largest exporter among DPSUs, MIL has significantly bolstered India’s defence sector and contributed immensely to the nation’s export economy.

MIL’s journey is marked by continuous modernization and expansion. The company has made substantial investments to introduce new manufacturing lines and upgrade existing facilities, ensuring it remains at the forefront of defence manufacturing. This commitment to innovation and quality has enabled MIL to develop world-class products that meet domestic defence needs and achieve remarkable success in global markets.

Aligned with India’s vision of ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India), MIL has set new milestones in self-reliance by reducing import dependence and enhancing the country’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. Through strategic collaborations and innovations, MIL has strengthened India’s defence capabilities, making it a reliable partner for the Indian Armed Forces and international allies. The company’s growing export portfolio and dedication to national security underscore its commitment to shaping a stronger and more self-reliant India.

Dr. J P Dash, CGM of NADP, expressed pride in being part of one of the best-performing DPSUs. He highlighted NADP’s commitment to creating new capabilities for all the new Defense Sector PSUs formed from the erstwhile OFB. “Our mentoring by IIM Indore, the launch of a new PGDM course focused on defence, and collaborations with top-notch corporate and academic institutions such as NADT, DIAT, IIPA, IBS, IIITN, VNIT, SMMCA, In-FED- IIM Nagpur, Infosys Springboard, and Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for Health Education demonstrate our dedication to building a Viksit Bharat through partnership and collaboration,” said Dr. Dash.

Today, NADP serves not only traditional clients like Ordnance Factories but also offers open executive programs to the private sector and other defence sectors. By conducting proactive disclosure services for all organizations under the Ministry of Defence and hosting seminars and conferences like HR Nexus, the largest HR conclave recently held in Central India, NADP is creating new narratives.

NADP has been awarded Golden Peacock Training Award to NADP, 2011; IBC and Berkshire Business Leadership Award for Educational Excellence (2023); Glory of India and Shiksha Bharat Award by India Achievers’ Forum (2024); Asian Business Excellence Award for Brand of the Year (2024), Business World Merit Award (2024, International Stevie Award (2024).

As MIL celebrates another year of achievements, NADP continues to support MIL in pushing boundaries, ensuring India remains a formidable player in the global defence arena while contributing to the country’s economic growth.
