– A first of its kind simulator to be used by the Kenyan Navy

New Delhi. 30th March 2016. ARI Simulation has announced that it has successfully completed the manufacturing of a suite of Warship Bridge Simulators for Kenyan Navy under a Danish Kenyan Cooperation Arrangement. The company stated that it is now in the process of delivering the Simulator suite to the Kenyan Navy fleet. The suite comprises a large primary bridge, built entirely to DNV-GL Class A Standards and fully integrated with six additional Class B Bridges. Specialised naval manoeuvring operations like Group / Fleet Tactical manoeuvring training and Convoy training can be practiced using this simulator.
The primary bridge has more than 300 degrees horizontal field of view visualisation system presented using high end projection systems. The suite replicates the exact set of vessel maneuvering controls with navigation and collision avoidance equipment as found on board the Kenyan naval vessels. Communication system and Safety control modules are also integrated in the suite. The pre-delivery-inspection (PDI) of the simulators was completed recently. The systems are scheduled to be operational and in use by June 2016 at a new purpose-designed facility currently being built in Mombasa.

Fleet Commander of the Kenyan Navy, Maj Gen Levi Franklin Mghalu who visited ARI HQ in New Delhi to have a personal look at the simulators being built, mentioned that this would be a first of its kind simulator to be used by the Kenyan Navy.
ARI offers scalable, extensible and upgradable systems that can interface with weapon systems, MCR and Propulsion simulators, CIC infrastructure and other defence assets to provide a holistic simulation framework. ARI’s defence simulators are also used by Coastguards, and other entities entrusted with the responsibilities for protection of Maritime borders and assets. A large number of training scenarios are supported, including for example, Anti-Smuggling, Air Support, Anti-Piracy, Natural Disaster Management, Search and Rescue, Anti-Pollution and others.
