Air Works gets ASSOCHAM's Best MRO Achievement Award 2021

New Delhi. 01 March 2022. India’s largest independent MRO and aviation services major, Air Works has been awarded the ‘Best MRO Achievement Award 2021’, at ASSOCHAMs 13th Annual Conference cum Awards on Civil Aviation and Cargo, held on 28th February 2022.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, and Chief Guest at the event, presented the award to Mr. D Anand Bhaskar, Managing Director & CEO, Air Works Group, at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi yesterday.

ASSOCHAMs Annual Awards are a well-established and highly acclaimed industry platform that recognize the outstanding contribution and success of stakeholders in the Civil Aviation ecosystem. Given the pandemic led circumstances of the last couple of years, this year’s awards were especially significant as they highlighted the firm resolve of the Winners and the innovative ways in which they have been adapting to navigate the unprecedented challenges, to achieve organizational transformation and growth.

Speaking on the occasion, D Anand Bhaskar, MD & CEO, Air Works Group said, “I am honored and humbled to accept this award. He further added, “Covid-19 tested our fundamentals of family values and relationships, innovation, and customer centricity at numerous times and often, in extraordinary ways. However, our DNA of adaptability and our enduring spirit of the last seven decades helped us prevail, making Air Works one of the few Indian aviation & aerospace brands to be relevant today in India as well as the region.”

Notwithstanding the challenging period, Air Works notched up several successes in the past two years, that reflect its passion and commitment towards Indian aviation and aerospace. Appreciation of its outstanding workmanship help the Company secure the lion’s share of maintenance contracts from customers, ensuring 100% capacity utilization. The Group also added new customers and expanded its defense and OEM relationships with Boeing, Embraer, Bell and Leonardo. Most importantly, and contrary to prevailing business logic, Air Works invested and expanded its maintenance facilities by a whopping 40%, adding a new, twin hangar, narrow body facility at the Cochin International Airport and commissioning a dedicated hangar for its Business Aviation customers at Hosur, Tamil Nadu, executing several industry-first and country-first projects. The Group also accelerated its technology-led transformation, creating IPRs such as AWDi® (Air Works Digital Info. Suite), AWtomateS® (Air Works Automation Suite) and AWCIM® (Air Works Customer Information Management) as well as winnings awards for deploying new technologies such as RFID to innovate and re-engineer its processes.

The Company also unveil the industry’s first Business Analytics solution – mSights or Maintenance Insights – an intelligent tool that delivers significant operational efficiencies using insights gathered from a 360-degree view of maintenance operations/ projects via an interactive dashboard. mSights was recently recognized by IDC at its Industry Innovation Awards as winner in the Innovation in Data intelligence category.

ASSOCHAMs 13th Annual Conference cum Awards event also received an enthusiastic response from the industry witnessing active participation from the industry’s who’s-who, especially since the event was organized as a completely physical one, after a gap of over two years. The event also recognized other performers with Awards in separate categories.
