Abu Dhabi, UAE/ Paris. 21 June 2024 . Advanced Armour Engineering (AAE), a UAE based defence and security industry leader in high grade metal fabrication to armour and non- armour manufacturers proudly participated in the Make it in the Emirates Forum, at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre where they signed an intent agreement with the global leader in advanced technologies, Thales.
As a key player in the defence and engineering sectors, AAE is the partner of choice for defence related companies globally and provides armoured vehicle components to more than 200 customers across 32 countries.
AAE was eager to showcase their latest product, The Blastrider Seat at the Forum. Fresh off the production line, the Blastrider features a stroking Blast Mitigation System (BMS), Modular optional add-ons, such as folding headrests, side impact bars, folding footrest received much attention at the Forum. The ergonomic design boasts multiple seat-to- vehicle mounting options including adjustable floor mounts (eg. Commander/ Driver), rear mount (eg. Rear Crew), side mount (eg. Gunner), roof mount (eg. Rear Crew/Gunner). The Blastrider safety standards are uncompromised with a commercially certified five-point retractable safety harness compliant with FMVSS-209 and a dynamic response index (DRIz) with AEP 55 Vol 2 injury criteria.
Under the ‘Go-To-UAE’ initiative, enabled by Tawazun Economic Council and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), Thales formalised their commitment by signing a Letter of Intent with AAE.
Tim Leam, CEO of Advanced Armour Engineering (AAE), expressed his pleasure and readiness to support Thales with local production in the UAE in accordance with AAE’s production capabilities.
“AAE has agreed to provide advanced, end-to-end industrial production solutions and related services to Thales, a leader in Aerospace, Defence & Security, and Identity & Security. These activities include design, prototyping, manufacturing, and assembly of a variety of products,” said Leam.
AAE’s core capabilities cover manufacturing of simple and complex fabrications for security and military operations including manufacturing jigs, custom APC and MRAP welded hulls, armoured kits, armoured guard rooms and turret and mount protection kits. The company’s engineering services include custom design from prototype development, series production, qualification and delivery.
