IDEX and NAVDEX and the International Defence Conference are organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the General Command of the UAE Armed Forces. Both events showcase the latest developments across the military sector, demonstrate the latest in peacekeeping and defence technologies, and forge new relationships between national, corporate, and academic entities attending the four day event.
Both exhibitions will attract a wide range of decision makers, sector experts, and industry specialists in the defence sector. Representatives will discuss how technological adoption can meet shifting global demand, as well as understanding how to enable further engagement that enables greater international security.
Saeed Bin Khadim Al Mansoori, Executive Director of IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions, said: “At ADNEC, our success is based from the strength of the partnerships which we form with a range of distinguished institutions. This strategic agreement is signed in that spirit, as we look to bolster the business tourism sector through IDEX and NAVDEX. We look to hold major events at our centres in a manner which befits both the reputation and position of the emirate of Abu Dhabi at the regional and international level.
“IDEX and NAVDEX are the only two events of their kind in the MENA region. Governments, companies and military forces are offered a unique opportunity to strengthen future relations during the conference.
“IDEX and NAVDEX have become one of the most important exhibitions for the international defence community. The exhibitions showcase modern military technology which strengthens the UAE’s security infrastructure, placing it as one of the most important industrialised nations and one of the most advanced militaries globally.”
For his part, Staff Colonel Yousef Juma Al Haddad, Editor in Chief of Nation Shield Magazine said “Our continued media partnership with the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company is a source of pride for Nation Shield. “Exhibitors and participants will be provided with media and advertising space in our regular newsletters. We will also prepare and publish specialised media articles and hold exclusive interviews with officials from leading national and international participants, experts, and decision makers. We aim to produce creative and informative content that adds value to all readers.”
Al Haddad explained “We look to preserve Nation Shield’s reputation which our publication has achieved since its foundation in 1971. Since that time, we have carefully covered the UAE Armed Forces, and monitored the wider developments of the nation.”
The last editions of IDEX and NAVDEX coincided with the 25th Anniversary of IDEX, launched in 1993. Over 124,000 visitors attended the exhibitions, held over five days. IDEX and NAVDEX and the International Defence Conference are held every two years.
