New Delhi. 21 May 2021. In a Ceremony held at Force Headquarters, Border Security Force, CGO Complex, New Delhi, Shri Rakesh Asthana, IPS, Director General, Border Security Force released the list of 70,193 BSF personnel, who have been awarded with the “Police Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak for J&K, LWE & NE regions”.
“Police Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak for J&K, LWE & NE regions” was instituted by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister on 28th July 2018. These medals are awarded twice in a year to the eligible force personnel who have completed a minimum of 2 years operational service in any of the J&K state, LWE and NE region.
Of the 70,193 medals awarded today, 25686 medals have been awarded for services of BSF personnel in J&K state, 14068 medals for LWE areas and 30439 medals for NE region.
These medals have been instituted to recognize the services rendered by force personnel while deployed for internal security duties during their tenures in J&K state, Left Wing Extremism (LWE) areas and North East (NE) region. The medal also recognises their contributions in the furtherance of peace and normalcy in these areas of deployment.
The Ceremony was attended by all the senior officers posted at Force Headquarters, Border Security Force, CGO Complex, New Delhi as well as all Command Headquarters, Frontier Headquarters and Training Institutions virtually through Video Conferencing.
Director General, BSF Shri Rakesh Asthana extended his heartiest congratulations to all the 70,193 recipients, who have been awarded with this Medal, and exhorted all the Seema Praharies to strive hard to earn more such laurels in future too.
